Research and write a detailed, focused research and opinion paper on

"Educational Theories and Music Methodologies".

 

 

ø   Include explanations and descriptions of the theories of:

            Edwin Gordon

            Howard Gardner

            Jane Healy

            John Dewey

 

And

 

ø   The music teaching/learning methodologies of:

            Kolday

            Orff

            Dalcroze

Gordon

            Feierebend (Conversational Solfege)

 

ø   Draw conclusions about all of these and develop and defend your opinions about each.

 

ø   Answer this question: What are the relationships between the Dalcroze, Kodaly, Orff and Conversational Solfege methods regarding the development of aural skills, musical literacy and creative musical expression?

 

 

ø   The paper should be in 12-point times (Times Roman), double-spaced, 5-10 pages.

 

ø   Be prepared to hand in your paper but also summarize for class discussion your opinions and what resonates with you.
